Pete Davidson has landed himself in hot water after he purchased a puppy from pet store in New York instead of adopting one from an animal shelter.

The Saturday Night Live comedian’s fans were disappointed over his choice of buying his new pooch from a lavish store and did not consider rescuing dogs from shelters.

According to the reports, the King of Staten Island star, 29, and his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, purchased a cavapoo in May from NYC’s Citipups.

The senior VP of Cruelty Investigations at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Daphna Nachminovitch, also reacted to the news, saying, "It's tragic that Pete didn’t seek out a borough-born mutt from a city animal shelter, because a scrappy New Yorker with charm, personality, and unconventional handsomeness could have been his perfect match," TMZ reported.

Meanwhile, Pete Davidson’s fans turned to social media and expressed their thoughts, calling the action “disgusting.”

“ADOPT DON’T SHOP bro,” wrote one internet user. “Buying a dog??? Gross! I didn’t even know that those sort of pet shops were still legal ,” added another.

Meanwhile, Pete Davidson has not commented on the matter yet.
