Sharon Stone opened up about how Hollywood ignored her for nearly 20 years when she suffered from a severe stroke in 2001.

During her conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the Basic Instinct star revealed that she was not offered any project from the fraternity, after she suffered from a brain hemorrhage that lasted nine days.

She also revealed that during that time, medical professionals forced her to take a break from silver screen for at least two years, but it turned into an infinite period.

"I recovered for seven years, and I haven’t had jobs since," she said.

The 65-year-old further added, "when it first happened, I didn’t want to tell anybody because you know if something goes wrong with you, you’re out. Something went wrong with me — I’ve been out for 20 years."

"I haven’t had jobs. I was a very big movie star at one point in my life," Stone recalled.

This is not the first time Stone has opened up about Hollywood's harsh reality, in a 2019's interview with Variety, the Casino star revealed, "I lost my place in the business."

"I was like the hottest movie star, you know? It was like Miss Princess Diana and I were so famous — and she died and I had a stroke. And we were forgotten," she added.

Stone also admitted that, "you find yourself at the back of the line in your business, as I did. You have to figure yourself out all over again."
