Leonardo DiCaprio attended the amfAR charity dinner of Cannes Film Festival with his mother Irmelin Indenbirken on Thursday night, where his painting was auctioned.
The Titanic actor, who arrived fashionably late with his mom, witnessed the moment of auction of his painting, made by an artist named Damien Hirst.
Hirst's art featuring DiCaprio was auctioned for a whopping $1.3millon at the charity event of the festival, which supports amfAR for the research of HIV and AIDS.
In a video shared by several news outlets, DiCaprio’s mom can be seen recording the memorable moment on her phone, as she was excited about the auction.
Earlier this week, the Inception star showed up at the Cannes Film Festival for the world premiere of his new film Killers of the Flower Moon.
Prior to the amfAR dinner, DiCaprio spent time with the Russian super model Irina Shayk at the Cannes Film Festival, the 37-year-old model is said to be among one of his closest friends.
