Ray Stevenson, the renowned British actor known for his roles in the Thor films, has passed away. He died at the age of 58.

The actor who recently played the brutally evil governor role in the Oscar-winning Indian film RRR died on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

The Rome actor's death was announced four days before his 59th birthday.

According to Variety, the cause of the actor's death has not been revealed.

The official Twitter account of RRR also confirmed the news of the actor died and wrote: "What shocking news for all of us on the team! Rest in peace, Ray Stevenson."

“You will stay in our hearts forever, SIR SCOTT,” they wrote.

On the other hand, RRR director Rajamouli also expressed his grief and tweeted:  "Shocking... Just can't believe this news. Ray brought in so much energy and vibrancy with him to the sets. It was infectious."

" Working with him was pure joy. My prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace." he further wrote.
