Moana actor Auliʻi Cravalho revealed that she will not be reprising her role in the Disney's upcoming live-action film.

Taking to Instagram on Friday the actress updated her plans about not serving as voice actor in the  film as Moana.

"When I was cast as Moana at 14, it wonderfully changed my life and started my career," Cravalho began. "In this live-action retelling, I will not be reprising the role."

She further continued "it is absolutely vital that casting accurately represents the characters and stories we want to tell." 

"As an executive producer on the film, I cannot wait to help find the next actress to portray Moana's courageous spirit, undeniable wit, and emotional strength," Cravalho said.

She concluded her message saying, "I'm truly honored to pass this baton to the next young woman of Pacific Island descent, to honor our incredible Pacific peoples, cultures and communities that helped inspire her story."

 "I look forward to all beautiful Pacific representation to come. Mahalo," she added.

For the unversed, Moana was announced by Dwayne Johnson last month, in which the actor will reprise his role of Maui.
