Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle made headlines after they being involved in an alleged "near catastrophic" car chase in New York City on Tuesday night.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were joined by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, while being followed by a large number of paparazzi for more than two hours.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) officials said “numerous” photographers made the royals’ transport “challenging,” but they remained unharmed as there were no reported collisions, injuries or arrests.

According to Harry and Meghan, the involvement with paparazzi was prolonged and risky. “Last night, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,” the Sussex couple’s spokesperson said.

“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers.”

Meanwhile, the Indian-American cab driver Sukhcharn Singh, who drove Harry and Meghan, revealed that they looked ‘nervous’ after photographers followed them.

The cab driver said, "I was on 67th Street and then the security guard hailed me. Next thing you know, Prince Harry and his wife were hopping into my cab.”

“They were nice people, they looked nervous. I think they were being chased the whole day or something. They were pretty nervous,” he further shared adding that he dropped Harry and Meghan at the 19th precinct in Manhattan.
