Vijay Varma has set the record straight on his Cannes 2023 appearance, as some media outlets reported that it is going to be debut of the Dahaad actor.

The 37-year-old actor, who recently travelled to France to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival on May 16, turned to Twitter to react on the reports suggesting that it is Varma’s first appearance at the event.

“Not my first time. First time was in 2013 with my film Monsoon Shootout. I’m going after a decade (sic),” wrote the actor.

Varma also shared a picture of his debut appearance at the French festival from ten years ago for his film Monsoon Shootout.

Monsoon Shootout was an action-thriller film, directed by Amit Kumar. The cast of the film includes Geetanjali Thapa, Sreejita De, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Tannishtha Chatterjee and more. It premiered at Cannes 2013 during the Midnight Screenings section.

Alongside Varma, Sara Ali Khan , Esha Gupta, Manushi Chhillar and Urvashi Rautela will  also walk the red carpet at Cannes 2023, happening in France.
