Michael J. Fox, who retired from acting in 2020 revealed how a scene from Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood influenced his retirement decision.

In his recent conversation with Empire Magazine, Fox recalled a scene in Quentin Tarantino’s film in which Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Rick Dalton was facing difficulty remembering his lines on set for his film The Good Fight.

“I thought of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” Fox stated. “There’s a scene where Leonardo DiCaprio’s character can’t remember his lines anymore. He goes back to his dressing room and he’s screaming at himself in the mirror. Just freaking insane. I had this moment where I was looking in the mirror and thought, ‘I cannot remember it anymore.’”

Fox further admitted that he drew strength from the iconic scene unlike the original character in the film, “[I was like] ‘Well, let’s move on.”

“It was peaceful,” he added.

In 1991, Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease when he was only 29. Apple TV+ will be releasing Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, today on May 13, 2023.

The film will document actor’s battle against the disease .
