Air India faced heavy fines for not taking care of safety onboard!

A flight captain apparently invited his lady friend into the cockpit in February this year with demands of snacks and alcohol served to her via Delhi-Dubai route.

An amount of 30 lakh has been levied on the airline while the pilot’s license has also been suspended for violation of the basic DGCA regulations.

CEO of Air India, Campbell Wilson related, “The organization did not take prompt corrective action despite this being a safety sensitive violation.” 

To note  the female in the cockpit  was an Air Indian staff member  and  certain administrative actions were taken against her  like removing her from managerial posts.
