Everything Everywhere All At Once makes other films hard to compete with, as the sci-fi/adventure film is netting all the awards at almost every event.

The film's leading star Michelle Yeoh, who is vocal about her struggle against Hollywood stereotypes, could register her name in history to become the first Malaysian to win an Oscar, plus the first Southeast Asian actor to succeed in the category of Best Leading Actress.

Moreover, fellow actor Ke Huy Quan would also become the first Vietnamese-born actor to win an Oscar for acting performance.

Top Gun: Maverick and Avatar: The Way of Water proved the naysayers wrong about the time bound to make the film relevant.

Giving the historic success of both franchise films would spur others of the lost franchise to regrow.

Meanwhile, Maverick is the first sequel to secure the categorical win without its original film being nominated in the past.

Critically acclaimed Steven Spielberg could surpass the legendary Clint Eastwood

Spielberg needs no introduction. The filmmaker is at the zenith of his career and has netted his 11th directing nomination for The Fabelmans, which would become the oldest director to win in this category.

Currently, Clint Eastwood is the top record-holder for Million Dollar Baby at 74 years old.

Unslappable Jimmy Kimmel is slated to emcee the star-studded event as last year's slap gate controversy looms.

The 2023 Academy Awards will broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, 12 March.
