Veteran actor Mumtaz recently appeared on Indian Idol 13 and spoke about how she rejected Shammi Kapoor's marriage proposal in 1960.

The 75-year-old actress recalled how she responded when late actor Shammi Kapoor proposed to her for marriage, said: “Shammi Kapoor says straightforwardly, I want to marry you,"

She further said that  "I was 17 years old. I didn't want to marry and so I didn't. But I do miss him sometimes."

Talking about the late actor Dilip Kumar, she said: "I went and hit Dilip saab, that was my first shot."

Mumtaz featured in only two films  with Shammi Kapoor, named Vallah Kya Baat Hai and Brahmachari, Hindustan Times reported.
