Indian top singer Daler Mehndi has been caught in an embarrassing faux pas.

According to Khaleej Times, the 55-year-old fell for a parody account which claimed that Prince Harry tuned into Daler Mehndi's music in his "lowest moments".

To furnish credibility, the tweet added a fake quote from the Prince's new book, Spare.

The false quote read, "In the times I felt alone and separated from my family, I always took time to myself to sit back and listen to Daler Mehndi. His lyrics resonated with me and got me through a lot."

Twitter had a field over the viral tweet.

"Yikes. Daler ji, how do we tell you," one user said.

Another user commented, "Poor Daler genuinely thought Prince Harry tunuk tunuked his way out of depression."
